Founded in 1847, Dundas is a quaint town with a mix of old-world charm and modern conveniences. Dundas features an array of hiking trails, waterfalls, parks and Conservation areas. With a population of about twenty thousand people, Dundas was amalgamated into the City of Hamilton in 2001.


Known as the Valley Town, Dundas is nestled in the west end of Hamilton, inside the bend of the Niagara escarpment. Dundas is roughly a one-hour drive west of Toronto.

The community's main shopping district is along King Street, and is served by University Plaza to the south, and the Westdale shopping district just to its east.


A local Farmers Market runs June through October, every Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the parking lot behind the library, 11 Miller's Lane.
